Primary Objectives
The role of the Technical Director, TMT, EMEA is to lead client and technical development in the TMT sector. The incumbent supports sales, client relations, and technical development with an emphasis on MEP and particularly Electrical Engineering.
Primary Responsibilities
* Support Pursuits and Sales in the TMT sector.
* Manage Clients / External Relationships.
* Aid in Recruitment and Redundancy processes.
* Ensure Total Quality Assurance.
* Develop and/or review technical concept solutions for the TMT sector.
* Liaise with TMT colleagues in NA and APAC as requested by the market sector director.
* Support TMT staff during early development periods on projects.
General Duties
* Structure training and succession planning to enhance performance and ensure future engineering expertise.
* Support the Management Team in running the business and assist in QM and IIP execution.
* Support management duties as agreed with the market sector director.
* Undertake engineering activities as needed and provide design/support to Project Directors and discipline leaders.
* Ensure no claims on P&L and that technical documents are diligently checked in the MEP area.
* Interview and recruit new team members.
* Contribute to HDR/in-house technical documents and guides.
* Carry out third-party design audits as necessary.
* Provide cross-director support in sales, resource control, problem solving, and design advice.
Specialist Duties
* Maintain project technical audits and ensure applicable quality standards are enforced, including IIP accreditation and ISO 9001/14001.
Reporting
* MEP area activities and development.
* Exceptional items and project/issues management.
* Client issues and quality management/technical compliance.
* Health & safety and future developments.
Meetings
* Management Board Meetings
* Business Planning Meetings and Conferences
* Business Development Meetings
* Group Leader Meetings/Resource Planning
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
* 10 years related experience
* Minimum 5 years project management experience
* Professional Engineer (PE) license
* MS Office and MS Project experience (Access a plus)
* Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills
