Senior Family Lawyer/ Associate
Nottingham (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £75,000 (DOE)
An established and highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Family Lawyer to join its growing Family team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to become part of a high-performing and forward-thinking department handling a broad range of privately funded family matters. Some travel and occasional out-of-hours work may be required for business development, networking, meetings, and training purposes.
The successful candidate will have strong experience dealing with high-net-worth financial matters, Children Act proceedings, and a wide range of family law issues. The firm is looking for someone who is commercially minded, proactive, and passionate about delivering an excellent client experience.
The Role
Responsibilities will include:
* Managing a varied caseload covering all aspects of family law, including divorce, financial remedy matters, Children Act proceedings, TOLATA disputes, injunctive relief, and elements of international family law.
* Advising on preventative family law matters, including pre-nuptial agreements.
* Supporting the continued growth and profile of the Family department through business development and networking activities.
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering a high standard of client care.
* Working collaboratively within the wider team while also managing matters independently with minimal supervision.
* Supervising and supporting junior members of the team where appropriate.
* Ensuring compliance with quality procedures and internal management systems.
* Managing work efficiently and commercially to meet individual and team targets.
* Continuing professional and personal development to maintain and enhance technical expertise.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* A relevant legal qualification.
* Strong technical knowledge and experience within Family Law.
* Experience handling a broad and complex caseload, including high-net-worth financial cases and Children Act matters.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
* A proactive and commercially aware approach.
* Experience contributing to business development initiatives.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
* A confident and professional manner when dealing with clients and stakeholders.
* A collaborative approach and willingness to mentor junior colleagues.
* Experience using case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
