Position: Pupil Support Leader - fixed term until 09/08/2026
Location: The Royal High School
Salary: £62,022 (pro-rata for part-time)
Hours: 15.18 per week
We are seeking an inspirational and passionate Pupil Support Leader to join the Integrated Support Team at The Royal High School.
The Royal High School is one of Scotland's oldest schools, with a rich history and a commitment to innovation. It is a non-denominational, 6-year comprehensive school serving students from four catchment primary schools: Blackhall, Clermiston, Cramond, and Davidson's Mains.
The school was inspected by HMIE in December 2022. The Senior Leadership Team includes the Headteacher, four Depute Headteachers, and the Business Manager. The current teaching staff comprises 100 FTE, supported by 21 FTE staff including Pupil Support Assistants, who aid in the integration of young people. The school features an integrated Additional Support for Learning Team, combining Guidance and Support for Learning, as well as Enhanced Support and Wellbeing Bases.
The school facilities were refurbished in 2004 and are well-maintained, with extensive use outside school hours. It is designated a Community Sports Hub, with refurbished PE facilities supporting this status. The school offers a vibrant extracurricular programme with various clubs and activities, and is expanding with new facilities, including six huts and a new extension opening in Easter 2024.
Strong links with parents, local businesses, and the community are integral to the school's ethos. The Parent Council, Parent Fundraising Group, and Former Pupils' Club actively support school life.

Salaries are aligned with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
Requirements
This role involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate must join or update their PVG Scheme membership and may require an Overseas Criminal Record Check if applicable. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
