Job Title: Multi Skilled Operative
As a Multi Skilled Operative, you will work alongside Milton Keynes Council within our social housing sector, providing a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams, who understand the importance of working together for the community.
Based in our Milton Keynes branch, your role involves supporting residents with reactive repairs across our property portfolio, working on a planned route. You will be part of a local team performing high-standard multi-trade repairs and refurbishment activities, ensuring safety, quality, and cost standards are met. You must have a certified core trade and be capable of delivering additional trades to support timely and high-quality repairs and refurbishments, following standard operating procedures. You will take ownership of construction, fault finding, and maintenance repairs, aiming for first-time completion within budget and time constraints.

* Prioritize customer experience by maintaining professionalism when communicating with service users, clients, and stakeholders. This includes appearance, company ID, vehicle condition, and adherence to health and safety standards. Customer feedback may be requested upon job completion.
* Use a handheld device (PDA) to process all work-related activities, including worksheets, timesheets, photographic evidence, stock management, leave booking, vehicle inspections, safeguarding, risk assessments, and method statements.
* Maintain company assets in good condition and report damages to your supervisor or manager.
* Utilize existing stock or collect materials as needed, following standard procedures for purchasing and stock control.
* Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
Role Criteria:
* Experience in Carpentry, Plumbing, or Plastering
* Team Player
* Good Communication Skills
* UK full driving license
All roles require candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK. Mears does not currently sponsor visas.
To operate a Mears vehicle, candidates must be over 21, have held their license for more than 3 months, and have fewer than 9 points.
All roles are subject to DBS/Security checks before employment begins.
