Role Purpose To enable the delivery of capabilities that support Fortescue’s new global operating model, a skilled Project Manager is required to lead complex initiatives across the product development lifecycle. This role will leverage deep experience in technology systems and product development to define requirements that deliver integrated solutions spanning communications, data management, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) toolchains. Key Responsibilities Lead Technology Projects: Manage the end-to-end delivery of complex technology and systems projects that enable Fortescue’s global operating model and product development lifecycle. Drive Systems Implementation: Oversee the design, integration, and deployment of solutions across communications, data management, and PLM toolchains; aligning business and technical objectives. Define and Manage Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, document, and prioritise system and process requirements, ensuring solutions deliver measurable business value. Engage Stakeholders: Build strong relationships with global and cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and collaboration throughout project delivery. Establish Governance: Implement and maintain effective governance frameworks, project controls, and reporting mechanisms to ensure visibility of progress, risks, and performance. Manage Risks and Issues: Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and issues to maintain delivery momentum and achieve desired outcomes. Coordinate Vendors and Partners: Lead engagement with external technology partners and service providers, managing contracts, performance, and compliance with Fortescue standards. Support Change Integration: Partner with change management teams to ensure business readiness, effective adoption of new technologies, and smooth transitions to operational use. Control Project Financials: Develop business cases, manage budgets, monitor expenditure, and track benefits realisation to ensure value for investment. Plan and Resource Delivery: Develop project plans, allocate resources effectively, and monitor workload to meet delivery milestones and quality expectations. Apply Best Practice Methodologies: Utilise recognised project management frameworks (e.g. Agile, Waterfall) and tools such as MS Project or Jira to drive structured and efficient delivery. Required Qualifications & Experience: Proven ERP Project Management Experience: Demonstrated success in leading complex Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP implementations or enhancements across multiple functional areas (e.g. Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, HR). Strong Technical Understanding: Solid knowledge of Dynamics 365 architecture, integration approaches, data management, and reporting capabilities, with the ability to translate technical detail into business outcomes. Delivery Excellence: Experienced in managing full project lifecycles — from planning, design, and build to testing, deployment, and post-go-live support. Vendor and Partner Leadership: Skilled in managing third-party vendors and system integrators, driving accountability for delivery performance, quality, and value. Change Management Collaboration: Experience working closely with organisational change leads to align technical delivery with communication, training, and adoption activities. Financial & Commercial Acumen: Capable of developing business cases, managing budgets, monitoring costs, and ensuring realisation of defined project benefits. Leadership & Team Development: Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams, foster accountability, and build a culture of continuous improvement. Global Mindset: Experience working within or managing distributed teams in a multinational context, balancing global standardisation with local requirements.
