Opportunities exist across England for hearing apprenticeships with various course start dates and university block release placements in a number of locations across the Midlands and the South West.
Successful completion of the apprenticeship includes registration with the Health & Care Professions Council as a Hearing Aid Dispenser.
What is a hearing dispenser?
A registered Hearing Aid Dispenser provides hearing care services to NHS and private customers, including:
* Conducting a case history
* Examining the health of the ears
* Completing an audiometric assessment
* Explaining hearing test results and offering appropriate advice
* Demonstrating and advising customers on a hearing system that will meet their individual requirements
* Programming, fitting and fine-tuning hearing systems
* Providing ongoing hearing aftercare
