Hardwick Green Primary Academy is seeking to appoint two play team members (mid-day assistants) to support lunchtime activities. The hours are as specified, with potential overtime opportunities.
As a member of the Play Team, under the supervision of the Play Coordinator and SLT, you will ensure meaningful lunchtime play for all children. Your role includes creating a safe and stimulating outdoor environment, facilitating social, active, and creative play, and ensuring children have a pleasant eating experience to maximize outdoor playtime.
Our academy is part of OPAL – Outdoor Play And Learning, which emphasizes the importance of play for exploring, manipulating, experiencing, and affecting the environment. We support the UN Charter on the Rights of the Child, especially Article 31, advocating for accessible and inclusive play opportunities for every child. We are seeking candidates who:
1. Are kind, caring, nurturing, and approachable.
2. Have experience working with children.
3. Can facilitate play opportunities and serve as ambassadors for play.
4. Can provide care, support, and advice during lunchtime.
5. Have or are willing to complete First Aid training.
