Job Description Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: November 30, 2026 Work set up: Hybrid (3 days per week in Sheffield office) Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for an OpenShift Administrator (Lifecycle) with strong automation engineering expertise to support enterprise platform operations. This role focuses on automating repetitive IT, infrastructure, and business processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. The position supports Red Hat OpenShift environments, ensuring automation solutions are robust, scalable, compliant, and aligned with enterprise controls and governance standards. What you will do: Develop, test, and maintain automation scripts and tools using Python, PowerShell, Shell, or JavaScript. Automate manual processes including server provisioning, patching, software deployment, and testing activities. Develop and maintain automation solutions for Red Hat OpenShift environments. Integrate automation workflows with existing enterprise systems, APIs, and tools. Identify automation opportunities by collaborating with IT, QA, and business stakeholders. Ensure automation solutions are robust, scalable, maintainable, and compliant with enterprise standards. Build and maintain job automation pipelines using tools such as Ansible and Jenkins. Develop or support test automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, PyTest, or Robot Framework where required. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise automated jobs and workflows. Utilise Jira and Confluence for work tracking, documentation, and knowledge sharing. Maintain version control using Git or SVN repositories. Document automation workflows, process maps, standards, and user guides. Support containerisation and orchestration activities within OpenShift and Kubernetes environments. Consume and automate REST APIs to enable system integrations. Work independently to manage assigned deliverables and meet agreed timelines.
