Civil Enforcement Officer 12-month fixed term contract - 15 hours per week with Bank Holiday working on a rota basis. 3 shifts 1pm to 6pm Monday to Friday £11,593.78 - £12,576.49 per annum (FTE £28,598 to £31,022 - pay award pending) Wychavon District Council operates a range of parking services on behalf of Bromsgrove District Council Duties of a Civil Enforcement Officer : Issuing penalty charge notices to vehicles parked in contravention of the Traffic Regulation Orders for On-Street locations and in Off-Street car parks in the Bromsgrove district. Work is completed mainly on foot and will involve moving between sites. Patrolling the local areas to maintain good traffic flow. Undertake ticket machine checks and assist people in the community to use our facilities. Make a difference to the way people can use and access parking spaces. Regularly assist customers at Bromsgrove Shopmobility Work on a rota basis, covering the hours of 1pm to 6pm for 3 days between Monday to Friday. About you The successful candidate will: Have a good standard of education with qualifications in English and Mathematics. Be highly motivated with good interpersonal skills and be able to handle sensitive (and sometimes confrontational) situations confidently and calmly in a professional manner. Have good communication skills and an ability to work on your own initiative. Be able to travel and patrol around the Bromsgrove district including the outlying villages is essential, and you will need to have access to and use of a vehicle to carry out these patrols (business use insurance for your vehicle will be required). Be working outside alone in all weathers and walking for long periods, up to 5 hours per shift. Be able to undertake other duties as required and provide support to other local areas when needed. Have experience in a similar role or in customer service, retail and hospitality.
