Development Director - Estates & Regeneration
Rate: £700 per day
Duration: 6 months (Initial)
IR35: Inside (Umbrella required)
Senior leadership role responsible for directing a large-scale estates regeneration programme within a Higher Education environment.
We are seeking an experienced Commercial/Development professional to provide strategic leadership across estates, facilities and capital development activities. The role will drive commercial value, oversee major contracts and support the long-term regeneration and optimisation of a complex, multi-site campus estate.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead commercial strategy across estates and facilities, ensuring value, compliance and financial control
* Direct commercial aspects of major regeneration, capital and refurbishment projects
* Oversee procurement, tendering, contract negotiation and supplier management
* Manage large FM, construction, maintenance and infrastructure contracts
* Lead supplier performance, KPIs, SLAs and continuous improvement
* Provide senior-level commercial advice to academic and executive stakeholders
Essential Experience
* Senior commercial/development management experience within estates or the built environment
* Higher Education sector experience essential
* Proven track record on major estates development or regeneration projects
* Strong contract management, financial and negotiation skills
* Experience with FM services, estates operations and compliance
Desirable
* RICS, CIPS, IWFM or equivalent
* NEC or JCT contracts
* Sustainability or estates strategy experience
