The post holder will lead operational delivery teams of 250-300 staff through supporting managers. They will ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery, value for money, and adherence to technical and quality standards. This role impacts road safety outcomes directly and involves developing operational processes, managing performance, and fostering talent management. Additionally, the role includes liaising with the Policy & Service Heads to support business improvements and providing assurance on standards compliance. Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing leadership and clear guidance to support objectives, maintaining integrity and upholding the reputation of the Agency and Civil Service.
2. Leading vehicle testing operations across regional teams to ensure quality service.
3. Ensuring operational standards, quality expectations, and service levels are met.
4. Maintaining effective communication with staff and management teams.
5. Developing operational plans to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services.
6. Driving improvements through QA, audits, and best practice adoption.
7. Collaborating on strategic business planning with relevant managers.
8. Acting as a liaison for specific services, providing operational expertise on issues and legislation.
9. Coordinating with internal departments to meet customer needs and communicate requirements effectively.
