The Material Technician is responsible for completing plastic raw material changes and colorant changes for production work orders. Completion of proper calibration procedures ensures colorant is consumed accurately and produces a quality color part. The material system operates with many components that require basic maintenance such as filter changes and magnet checks that are completed throughout the shift. The Material Technician validates the accuracy of color and material per work order instruction by participating in the completion of the First Article sign off.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Execute the set-up of work order defined material blends: raw material %, color %, additive %
* Insert correct % required per work order on blender and color unit controls
* Complete raw material changes at the Material System coupling stations
* Execute calibration procedures on color units and blenders
* Complete basic system maintenance: filter changes, magnet checks, auxiliary equipment set up
* Perform basic problem-solving skills on the system as needed
* Complete system audits ensuring quality parts are being produced: first article, material usage, space 5S
* Communicate equipment related concerns to Production Lead and Maintenance for repair
* Utilize the forklift to move color and material as needed
* Perform additional tasks as requested by the Production Lead
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Desire and ability to learn a concept
* Ability to plan tasks based off production schedule
* Understand basic math, weights, and percentages
