About the role We are seeking a qualified Trading Standards professional to join one of our business advice, compliance or investigations teams. The work is varied and meaningful, protecting consumers and supporting businesses across the full range of Trading Standards functions, including: Risk-based inspections and market surveillance, utilising intelligence to target sectors, products and services where intervention will have the greatest impact. Complaint investigation, prioritising achieving compliance and positive outcomes for our residents. High‑profile and complex criminal investigations, with scope to develop innovative solutions with strong professional support, including in‑house legal services, a financial investigator and an intelligence officer. Regulatory advice and support to businesses, from small start-ups to large national enterprises via Primary Authority partnerships. The Senior position will be expected to undertake a greater level of responsibility, lead on more complex issues and act as a mentor to colleagues, including apprentices.
