Conveyancing Solicitor Job Description
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Conveyancing Solicitor to join our busy property team in Leeds. The ideal candidate will be a client-focused professional with a deep understanding of the residential conveyancing process. You will be responsible for managing your own diverse caseload, providing expert legal advice, and ensuring a seamless experience for clients from instruction to completion.
Key Responsibilities ??
* Caseload Management: Independently manage a varied caseload of residential property transactions, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, new builds, shared ownership, and transfers of equity.
* Legal Expertise: Provide clear, pragmatic, and expert legal advice to clients on all aspects of property law.
* Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence, including title checks, reviewing contracts and legal documents, and analysing search results.
* Client Communication: Maintain exceptional standards of client care by providing regular, proactive updates and building strong relationships with clients, estate agents, and third parties.
* Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other members of the conveyancing team and provide mentorship or supervision to junior colleagues, such as paralegals or assistants.
* Post-Completion: Manage all post-completion tasks, including Stamp Duty Land Tax returns and Land Registry applications.
* Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in strict accordance with the firm's quality standards, regulatory requirements, and the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) code of conduct.
Skills & Qualifications ??
* Qualified Solicitor: You must be a fully qualified Solicitor with a valid practising certificate in England and Wales.
* Experience: A minimum of 3+ years' PQE (Post-Qualified Experience) in residential conveyancing with a proven track record of managing a full caseload.
* Technical Knowledge: Strong technical proficiency in property law and a comprehensive understanding of conveyancing procedures.
* Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters in a straightforward manner.
* Organisation: Exceptional organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
* Case Management: Competent in using case management software and other relevant legal tech.

* Salary: £40,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
