The job itself
It is an exciting time to join the Forward Planning team as work begins on the development of the next Local Plan under the emerging new planning system.
This role will play an important part in the development of the Local Plan. The role will cover many aspects of the plan making process including supporting senior officers in developing policy and evidence base preparation. This role will also play a key role in the development and recording of local plan and infrastructure monitoring.
To be successful in this role, you will be a team player, self-motivated, a good communicator and an organised person.
Ideally you will have worked in a planning policy and/or local government environment before but it’s not essential if you have the desire to get involved in the challenge of balancing new housing growth, and employment land alongside the protection of important environments and habitats in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It’s a diverse place to consider in terms of planning policy.
Working at this large Unitary Authority will give you an excellent insight into a wide range of planning considerations across urban and rural settlements within highly attractive costal and rural landscapes. You will be part of a supportive and positive team with a strong track record of delivering sound plans and it will be a great opportunity to advance your career.
The role is suitable for a blended working approach and allowing someone to split their working time between County Hall in Beverley and their home base.
Please note: two successful candidates will be recruited to this post.
