Job Summary:
We are an expanding and enthusiastic company running a number of café outlets at busy tourist locations across the North Cornwall Coast with a centralised food and Gelato preparation kitchen.
We are seeking a positive, hardworking, delivery driver to support the daily requirements of our cafes. This is a physically demanding role that requires heavy lifting and excellent communication skills. It involves early morning starts and early-mid afternoon finishes, so may be suitable for someone looking for a new opportunity alongside another job. This is a seasonal position, from March to September.
Job Description:
With support and guidance from the kitchen, the role will include collating orders, stocking the van, and delivering morning supply to all our sites. There will be a small element of food preparation and assisting with storing on site. As well as maintenance jobs to assist in the upkeep of our cafes and vehicles.
Once you have returned to the kitchen the van and delivery equipment must be cleaned down ready for the next day. You will also be required to assist with stock rotation, emptying and cleaning of rubbish vans, ordering, collecting orders and putting deliveries away and general maintaining/cleaning of the main building and its stock. There could potentially be scope to assist with further food preparation once delivery duties are complete.
You will be part of an encouraging, dedicated team, however there will be times when you will be required to work alone, nonstandard hours (early mornings especially) and thus without direct supervision.
Our peak demands are during summer season and school holidays. We are therefore seeking an individual with the ability to be sufficiently flexible and enthused to handle the busy periods while maintaining focus and attention to high standards.
You will need:
* To be 21 or over.
* Full Clean Manual Driving Licence.
* Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role.
* Be organised with excellent communication skills.
* Be flexible and show commitment to the role.
* Ability to safely operate a commercial vehicle.
* Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
Desirable:
* Certificates in Manual Handling, Food Allergens & Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene.
* Have good knowledge of stock control and food safety.
