Overview
Version 1 is seeking a highly accomplished and professional Enterprise Architect with strong client facing experience to join our multi-award-winning consultancy organisation. You will join a diverse team providing IT Strategy, AI advisory, development and support services, working with Version 1's public and private sector customers. This role will require two days on site in the Lincoln area. You will have worked in an Enterprise Architecture role, engaging with technical and business stakeholders. Using your breadth of experience, you will lead in defining and delivering transformative programs for customers.
Responsibilities
* Lead the definition and creation of innovative digital services for customers.
* Provide technical guidance to customers and internal teams as we build digital and AI-centred services.
* Deliver transformation of IT practices to exploit modern best practices such as DevOps, DevSecOps, automation agents and generative AI.
* Define strategies to migrate, modernise and transform legacy systems onto modern architectures.
* Provide technical, sectoral and design leadership to a skilled technical team.
* Work with customer senior management and technology leaders, assisting as they make decisions on technical direction.
* Lead business analysts and end-users to elicit requirements and assist in developing design specifications for short-, medium- and long-term future state architectures.
* Develop effective logical, conceptual, and physical designs with the wider IT development and support team.
* Perform enterprise technology assessments to identify risks, issues and opportunities.
* Assess customer application estates and define future roadmaps including cloud migration, modernisation, and AI adoption.
* Design digital solutions with awareness of relevant standards and industry best practices.
* Be part of a motivated advisory team with strong core values focused on driving customer success.
* Identify opportunities to add value to the customer in the management and delivery of its IT landscape.
* Evaluate and recommend external products and services that may meet the customer's requirements.
* Identify technology trends through awareness of industry innovation, sectoral and geo-political factors.
* Support business development teams in shaping opportunities and defining solutions for new customers, including tender responses and client presentations.
* Maintain client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to CIO and senior technology leaders across the client base.
* Contribute to performance recognition schemes and career development paths within the organisation.
Qualifications
* One or more certifications in relevant architecture domains are desirable, or proven real-world architecture experience in these areas:
o Enterprise architecture – TOGAF preferred
o Cloud architecture – Azure and/or AWS
o AI Architecture – Copilot, OpenAI, Azure AI, RAG Architecture
* Project management, operations and IT delivery certifications are desirable, such as:
o Service Management (e.g. ITIL)
o Project Management (e.g. PRINCE2)
o Agile (e.g. PSM or CSM Scrum Master)
* Application or technical specialist certifications are desirable, such as:
o IT Security (e.g. CISSP, CEH, CCSP)
o ERP Systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Salesforce or MS Dynamics)
o Product or application specialisms (e.g. O365, SharePoint, CRM)
* Technical delivery experience:
o Extensive solution design, development and delivery experience in diverse and complex environments
o Development of IT and/or digital strategies including roadmaps and AI strategies
o Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture modelling (e.g., UML) and tools (e.g., LeanIX, OrbusInfinity, Ardoq)
o Excellent client-facing skills, including experience with C-Suite executives
* Sectoral experience: significant (5+) years in at least one sector with deep technology and market understanding.
