About the Role
A well‑established and respected construction contractor is seeking a Buyer to join their growing team in Maidstone. This is a great opportunity for someone with construction procurement experience (or looking to step up) to play a key role in supporting project delivery across a varied portfolio including commercial, residential, and heritage works.
Key Responsibilities
* Procuring materials, plant, and subcontract services
* Managing supplier relationships and negotiating best value
* Raising purchase orders and tracking deliveries
* Ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining quality standards
* Supporting project teams with timely procurement
* Monitoring market trends and sourcing new suppliers
* Working closely with commercial and site teams
Requirements
* Previous experience in a Buyer / Procurement role (construction preferred)
* Strong negotiation and communication skills
* Good knowledge of construction materials and supply chain
* Organised with strong attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
