Band 6 Diabetes Dietitian – Maternity cover

The role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Dietitian to join our Adult Diabetes Dietetic Service on a fixed‑term basis to provide maternity leave cover. The post is primarily based within the outpatient service at the New Victoria Hospital and Gartnavel General Hospital, with flexibility to support diabetes dietetic services across Greater Glasgow and Clyde as required.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and compassionate Dietitian to contribute to the delivery of high‑quality, person‑centred care for adults living with diabetes. You will work as part of a well‑established multidisciplinary team, delivering:
* One‑to‑one dietetic consultations to adults with diabetes.
* Group education sessions, including structured diabetes education programmes.
You will also contribute to pathway improvement and service development across the wider diabetes dietetic service. This role will contribute to dietetic practice placements across Scotland, supporting the development of students’ clinical skills throughout their training.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
This post is Fixed‑Term 0.8 WTE for 12 months, 28.8 hours per week. The location is New Victoria hospital. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday, 8am‑4pm. Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.
Key responsibilities:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to manage a varied caseload independently and effectively.
* Post‑graduate clinical experience across diverse dietetic settings within a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience in delivering group education sessions.
* Previous experience working with people living with diabetes.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Applicant requires minimum education to BSc Dietetics qualification, registration with Health Care Professionals Council, member of British Dietetic Association, PVG membership scheme / Disclosure Scotland.
BSc Human Nutrition & Dietetics Registered Dietitian (Health and Care Professions Council) Advanced Diploma in Dietetic Practice or equivalent Master’s Level post graduate education. Membership of the British Dietetic Association Record of CPD relevant to job title at Master’s level or equivalent. Accredited educator for Type 1 structured group education is desirable.
* Additional responsibilities within a specialist area of practice in a multi‑disciplinary setting.
* Audit experience and evidence of impact on practice.
* Acted in a clinical supervisory capacity.
* Development and delivery of group educations at post‑graduate level.
