Reference: 3a93118d Befriender/support worker/s required to support a 27 year old man with autism and learning disabilities who lives in Crook, County Durham We are looking for either one or two support workers to fill 14 hours a week either on their own or between them. They will need to provide support to this gentleman who is quite independent but requires additional support outside of the house, for trips into the community to various activities such as cinema, shopping, swimming etc. Hours /Wage: 14 hours per week £ 13 per hour Ideally the 14 hours would be worked across 2 days per week (Tuesday and Thursday) and 7 hours per day (10am – 5 pm) but there is flexibility in this and days/times can be split and this can be discussed at interview. Duties: Your main duty will be to accompany the person on trips into the community and to provide support where necessary. Activities will include but not be limited to going to the cinema/shopping/visiting museums/swimming/bowling/trampolining. Additional Requirements/Information Experience of working with people with autism would be preferred but not essential. Client has a bus pass and carers pass so travel would where possible be on public transport.
