The role involves working in an agile environment across Trafford, including Trafford Town Hall, The One Trafford Depot (Wythenshawe), and various locations throughout Trafford.
Flexibility is required for outside regular office hours, including evenings and weekends, for events such as enforcement reviews and Council meetings. Out-of-hours work is planned in advance.
We have an exciting opportunity within our Parking Services Team. Reporting to the Parking and Traffic Manager, you will oversee and supervise daily team operations. You will collaborate with the Highways, Transport and Environment Directorate to undertake enforcement duties, manage customer and stakeholder contacts, and handle appeals.
A typical day includes supporting the Parking and Traffic Manager, working with the Senior Parking Services Officer to deliver parking services, and managing adjudication, court, and bailiff processes and queries.
You will serve as an escalation point for officers, review parking-related cases, and approve customer and stakeholder correspondence. Ensuring our media channels and online application processes for appeals and permits are current and maintained is also part of your role.
Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to engage with internal departments, private businesses, and customers. You should have experience supervising staff and managing caseloads.
Proven experience at a supervisory level in a customer-focused environment, ideally within parking enforcement, is required. You should be able to build on existing practices and identify areas for improvement. Support for managing car park assets, undertaking financial monitoring, and contributing to enforcement planning for mass participation events is also expected.
Knowledge of statutory Civil Parking Enforcement functions under the Traffic Management Act 2006 and experience with Traffic and Parking Services processes are desirable.
Your approach should reflect our EPIC values: commitment to continuous learning and improvement, valuing others, taking ownership, and resolving issues proactively.
