Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role is essential in ensuring our café runs smoothly and efficiently, providing exceptional service to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a keen interest in food preparation, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the customer experience.
This job role includes shifts on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays, additional hours during school holidays and busy periods will also be required.
Duties
* Assist in food preparation, ensuring all items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
* Serve customers with a friendly and helpful attitude, taking orders and providing recommendations as needed.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
* Preparing beverages and managing the customer and staff area during busy periods.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
* Handle cash and card transactions accurately and responsibly, ensuring all sales are recorded correctly.
* Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages or issues to management.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or catering environment is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members alike.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to help others within the team.
