We have a great opportunity for a Project Manager to join our great Business Change team here at Greggs House- Innovate, Newcastle on a permanent basis.

If you’re happiest in an IT environment, with complex projects to oversee, there’s a digital revolution underway at Greggs! An opportunity has arisen within IT & Business Change and we are looking for a Project Manager to help our Business Change Team deliver amazing outcomes to help us meet growing demand in the business for first class systems. You will become part of a fast-growing, progressive working environment as we continue to grow our business. As a member of the Business Change Team, you’ll be required to both support project delivery within your area and also contribute to and help drive the team’s own internal continuous improvement strategy.

About the role

17. This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
18. We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
19. The base location for this role isNewcastle Upon Tyne.Ideally, you’ll live within one hour travel of this area

What you'll do

Reporting to the Business Change Manager, the primary responsibility of this role will be planning and delivering agreed changes to the business safely and within agreed constraints. You will also:

20. Develop and manage the execution of project and delivery plans to achieve defined objectives within agreed constraints.
21. Manage project and team resources (external and internal) and continually improving team dynamics and working practices to help ensure success.
22. Ensure all necessary controls ( risks, issues, changes, dependencies and assumptions) are visible and effectively managed.
23. Ensure communication to key project stakeholders throughout the duration of the project or initiative ensuring a high level of confidence is earned and maintained.
24. Agree resource requirements and timescales with the business, manage the assignment and release of resources during the course of projects and deliveries and remove team obstacles.
25. Ensure that the delivery adheres to the established governance and quality standards ( artefacts, team events and meetings, reporting, quality measures).

About you

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

26. Experience of successfully delivering business and technology change using practical examples to describe challenges and successes.
27. Experience of delivering IT projects using practical examples to describe challenges and successes.
28. Experience of working in agile, product backlog environments and traditional project delivery methodologies and ability to demonstrate an understanding of the differences and pros and cons of these approaches.
29. Experience of working in dynamic business environments, and managing delivery of multiple initiatives.
30. Excellent communication, presentational, written and organisational skills.
31. The ability to think logically, overcome problems and interpret and present key statistical data in a way that can be understood by different stakeholder groups.
32. The ability to self-starter with a proactive approach to daily tasks, overcoming problems and maintaining momentum.
33. Digital literacy, being proficient in standard office tools used in change management ( Project, Excel, Word, Visio, PPT) and more creative use of other tools/technology to help communicate or facilitate.
34. Are a strong team player, able to build good working relationships at all levels

35. Can multi-task and work with multiple priorities at pace, delivering results within tight timescales

36. Able to engage and work collaboratively with other teams to make improvements to processes and influence stakeholders at all levels

37. Enjoy being part of a hard-working team, sharing the same end goal, and celebrating results together

38. Are supportive of an inclusive culture – recognising and valuing that difference is good

The successful candidate may be able to demonstrate:

39. Experience of working on a large scale IT implementations.
40. Experience of working in or knowledge of food-to-go or similar retail business environment.
