Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician role at Amazon. The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team keeps vital machinery running and maintains equipment and workspaces while upholding Health and Safety practices. The RME Technicians boost equipment availability and quality and help improve the operational environment.
Responsibilities
* Proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment
* Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse
* Use the latest tools to maximise equipment effectiveness
* Uphold all health and safety policies and practices
* Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices
* Work on continuous improvement projects and roll out best practices across a range of EU sites
A day in the life
Our RME Technicians are based on-site, so they can respond quickly to any machinery issues. You’ll carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance to our sites’ equipment to ensure it is working safely. You’ll also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigate, find, and implement solutions as quickly as possible, and make suggestions for long-term improvements.
Working alongside senior colleagues, you’ll undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks and liaise with contractors if external expertise is needed. You’ll work on a range of shifts to ensure our sites are supported around the clock, enabling Amazon to deliver at the speed we’re known for.
About the team
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team keeps equipment performing at its best. We are a technically minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres, with opportunities for progression within the RME team and across Amazon.
From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing general site maintenance and repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most aspects of Amazon’s technical operations. This includes keeping buildings legally compliant so everyone is safe and sites operate at maximum efficiency. There are lots of opportunities for progression within the RME team and more widely across Amazon. We focus on reducing downtime to ensure timely order delivery, and we may work during early or late hours to minimise disruption. We may introduce new processes or cutting-edge technology such as Amazon Robotics and our Complex Item Sorter.
Basic Qualifications
* High school or equivalent diploma
* Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
Preferred Qualifications
* Associate's degree in mechanical or electrical fields
* Experience with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with OEM and safety standards
* Experience with robotic operation and maintenance
