Modern Workplace Project Manager
Salary: £85,000 - £90,000
Location: Horsham - Hybrid
Are you a technically credible Modern Workplace Project Manager ready to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and politically sensitive environment? This is a succession planning hire with a clear pathway into a Programme Manager role, offering the opportunity to become the number two to a senior Programme Manager within a highly regulated organisation. As a Modern Workplace Project Manager, you will lead high-impact technology initiatives across Microsoft 365, AI, and cloud-based workplace transformation, starting with a major laptop refresh programme using Microsoft Autopilot.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead end-to-end delivery of Modern Workplace (MWP) technology projects across Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, AI and collaboration platforms
* Manage the initial laptop refresh programme deploying cloud-based devices via Microsoft Autopilot
* Define project scope, outputs, milestones, and success criteria aligned to platform and service architecture
* Coordinate cross-functional technical teams across network, server, storage, and cloud domains
* Oversee integrations and migrations from on-premises environments to Microsoft 365
* Embed service architecture, operational controls, and security standards to ensure scalable, resilient solutions
* Plan and execute complex launch and cutover activities, ensuring effective change management and post go-live support
* Operate within governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with infrastructure standards and security policies
* Manage budgets with clear visibility of total cost of ownership (CapEx and OpEx)
* Oversee supplier and vendor relationships, including commercial negotiations for hosting, hardware, and managed services
* Apply Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid methodologies depending on project requirements
* Contribute to portfolio-level planning, tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement
Requirements:
* Proven experience delivering end-to-end Modern Workplace projects within complex, regulated environments
* Strong technical background (ideally progressed from hands-on technical into project delivery)
* Deep understanding of Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, Active Directory, and wider Microsoft stack
* Experience driving technology change, adoption, and cloud migrations from on-prem to M365
* Demonstrable infrastructure lifecycle management, systems integration, and service design experience
* Experience leading AI rollouts, Copilot readiness, and collaboration platform initiatives desirable
* Strong gravitas, resilience, and confidence to operate in demanding, high-change environments
* Comfortable with mandatory onsite working (3 days per week) and travel flexibility to London
