As a Principal EC&I Engineer in 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T), you'll play a vital role in shaping your projects. Working alongside talented colleagues across all disciplines, you'll provide leadership, support and delivery of Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) activities and work packages. Working closely with clients, you'll be trusted to lead the development and implementation of solutions to solve their most complex problems. AtkinsRéalis provides consultancy and engineering services to a range of clients in industries such as Nuclear Power, Defence, Rail and Aerospace. Due to strong growth, particularly in the nuclear sector, we are looking to expand our team. The role is to contribute to the design of Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) systems solutions for AtkinsRéalis clients. The systems can vary from simpler and conventional EC&I hard wired systems up to complex multi panel systems with significant programmable elements and be used in a safety or security critical contexts.
Your Role
* Lead Electrical, Control and Instrument (EC&I) engineering project teams while working closely with clients and stakeholders.
* Responsible for the overall delivery of early-stage requirements FEED (Front End Engineering Design) work packages, which can include a broad range of EC&I and Control Systems work scopes.
* Responsible for the overall delivery of the requirements, detailed design and implementation phase work packages, which can include a broad range of EC&I and Control Systems deliverables and artefacts.
* Input into the overall direction of the EC&I Capability and resourcing.
About You
* Capable of leading project teams comprising of junior to senior engineers and consultants.
* Knowledge and experience of a broad range of control systems and electrical control equipment and its applications in automated and safety related systems.
* Experience of engaging with clients to understand the technical and contractual requirements, as well as developing successful working relationships with engineers and consultants at all levels of the AtkinsRéalis business.
* Experienced in the design, implementation, substantiation, verification & validation and safety justification of high integrity software-based protection and/or safety control systems.
* Chartered engineer status with a relevant professional body.
* Accredited Functional Safety Engineer (e.g. TUV Rheinland IEC161508/IEC61511 FSEng).
