Packing Operative Sector: Food Manufacturing Location: Near Bury St Edmunds Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £28,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday | 6am > 2pm iSQ Recruitment is supporting a busy and well-established food manufacturing site near Bury St Edmunds with their search for a Packing Operative. This position offers a varied workload across packing and production, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a practical role in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role within a small, close-knit team, where reliability, strong communication, and a team-focused attitude are essential to daily operations. A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence is essential for this position. Please Note This role does not offer visa sponsorship. Candidates must have full Right to Work in the UK. Key Responsibilities Packing flour into 16kg, 25kg and 1-tonne tote bags. Loading lorries using a counterbalance forklift. Carrying out quality checks to ensure product standards are met. Completing food safety checks and production paperwork. Performing magnet and metal detector checks. Conducting tool checks. Shrink wrapping finished products ready for dispatch. Supporting with general mill duties and cleaning during quieter periods. Essential Criteria Valid counterbalance forklift licence. Full UK driving license & own transport. Good level of English (written and verbal). Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Comfortable working in a food manufacturing environment.
