We are looking to appoint a
Junior Sous Chef
to our friendly kitchen team. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to prioritise a heavy and varied workload, and a calm approach to their work. This could be the perfect opportunity for an experienced, ambitious chef wanting to progress their culinary career.
Role description
The Junior Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in producing high quality meals and services (including fine dining). They will supervise shift to ensure that the production of meals are of the highest quality and are achieved by production methods that comply with all health, safety and hygiene legislation. They will also be responsible for allergen management during the shift being supervised.
Skills and experience
* Recognised catering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery) and Food Hygiene Level 2 certification
* Experience working in a professional kitchen and ability to run shift
* Experience working in high-volume catering environments
* An eye for detail and food presentation, with an ability to produce consistent, high-quality food for large numbers
* Ability to support senior chefs and willingness to train and guide junior kitchen staff
