Salary £31,387 to £46,485 per annum, depending on skills and experience (minimum £35,608 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Responsibilities
The Research Associate/Fellow will work with the lithium‑sulfur battery team on the Faraday Institution LiStar project, focusing on the development of electrolytes and additives that enable high‑performance batteries. The role involves experimental work, data analysis, and collaboration within the Nottingham Applied Materials and Interfaces Group.
Qualifications
* Almost completed or completed PhD in physical chemistry, synthetic chemistry, electrochemistry, materials chemistry, or a related discipline.
* Strong laboratory skills and experience in electrochemical or materials chemistry.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
Employment Details
This is a full‑time fixed‑term post (36.25 hours per week) available to start straight away, with a term until 1 December 2026 and the possibility of further extension. The School of Chemistry is a Silver Athena SWAN Award holder and is committed to equality of opportunity.
