Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: up to £50,000 DOE

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering and manufacturing team. You’ll design and develop LV electrical systems, control panels. This role offers the chance to lead a small team of junior engineers and work on exciting, fast-paced projects.
Key Responsibilities
 * Lead and mentor junior engineers and apprentices.
 * Design LV electrical systems.
 * Produce schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation using EPLAN Electric P8 and Pro Panel.
 * Select components and materials balancing efficiency, reliability, and cost.
 * Work with mechanical engineers and project managers to integrate electrical systems.
 * Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and support procurement.
 * Provide technical support to the production team and resolve design issues.
 * Maintain clear design documentation and stay updated on industry developments.
Skills & Experience
 * HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
 * EPLAN proficiency – essential.
 * 5+ years’ electrical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
 * Experience in panel design/manufacturing is highly desirable.
 * Knowledge of LV power systems and relevant standards (IEEE, IEC, BS EN 61349).
