Role: Programme Manager – Engineering and Motor Vehicle
Location: Tresham College – Corby Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £41,400 and £47,971 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 35 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Programme Manager in Engineering and Motor Vehicle to join our Motor Vehicle department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Programme Manager, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Leadership & Management – Provide academic and operational leadership for a defined curriculum area, ensuring high-quality programmes aligned with industry and awarding body standards.
2. Curriculum Development & Growth – Design and deliver innovative, employer-responsive curriculum; support strategic growth and achievement of departmental KPIs.
3. Quality & Student Outcomes – Monitor and improve teaching, learning, and assessment; track student progress and implement interventions to maximise achievement and progression.
4. People Management – Lead recruitment, induction, and development of staff; ensure consistent application of performance management and CPD strategies.
5. Compliance & College Engagement – Uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety; contribute to college-wide activities, events, and statutory requirements in line with TBCG values.
About you:
6. Qualifications – GCSE Maths and English; Level 3 specialist qualification; PGCE or Cert Ed; Level 3 Management and Level 4 IQA qualifications (or willingness to achieve).
7. Experience – Successful teaching across varied levels and learner types; curriculum planning and review; quality assurance processes (SAR/QIP, IV, standardisation).
8. Knowledge – Qualification frameworks, awarding body requirements, Ofsted EIF, inclusive practice, and adaptive teaching strategies for diverse learners.
9. Skills & Competencies – Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication; confident IT and VLE use; ability to maintain accurate, compliant records.
10. Professional Standards – Commitment to safeguarding, EDI, confidentiality, CPD, and college values; flexibility for travel and changing business needs; awareness of health & safety and risk assessment.
