Applicants are invited for the Medical Education Clinical Fellow programme based at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor. We are looking for dynamic individuals who have completed their Foundation Programme training (or equivalent) with previous experience of working in the NHS. Two fixed term posts are available commencing 05 August 2026 for a duration of one year. There will be an opportunity to complete a funded postgraduate qualification in Medical Education. The posts offer an exciting opportunity for doctors interested in pursuing a career in General Internal Medicine. The successful candidate will work in Cardiology for one year at Clinical Fellow grade. Currently there are no on‑calls associated with these posts but this could change and may be required in the future, to be discussed further at interview.
Main Duties of the Job
Medically qualified Clinical Fellows facilitate the learning experience of students through tutorials, bedside teaching and mentoring. Fellows will be passionate about teaching and act as supportive role‑models for students at the beginning of their journey to become healthcare professionals. Fellows match 1.5 days of teaching and student support for the Undergraduate Department with 3.5 days of clinical activity in the Cardiology department based at Ysbyty Gwynedd. They have representation on the Medical Education Board and contribute to two annual Digital Education Study Days.
