We are looking for a motivated physiotherapist to join Ellington Ward, an older adult inpatient mental health unit one day a week. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic person who is keen to make improvements in Mental Health services, through initiatives and bespoke interventions for our service users.

Responsibilities
* Provide specialist physiotherapy input to older adults with mental health issues, including cognitive decline/organic issues and functional concerns.
* Work mainly onsite at Ellington Ward, Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow.
* Deliver coordinated rehabilitation and condition management within an older adult inpatient MDT from early diagnosis through to end‑of‑life care.
* Assess patients holistically and provide physiotherapeutic advice and support to other professions within the multidisciplinary team and external agencies.
* Manage own caseload as an autonomous practitioner, with regular 1:1 clinical and managerial supervision, peer review and multidisciplinary team discussion.
* Undertake evidence‑based audit and service improvement projects to enhance clinical practice.
* Develop and deliver individualised treatment programmes for patients with diverse physical, cognitive, psychological and neurological presentations.
Qualifications and Experience
* Physiotherapy degree or equivalent and physiotherapy professional qualification.
* UK Health and Care Professions Council Registration.
* Evidence of relevant post‑registration professional development training (CPD).
* Membership of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
* Extensive NHS experience in core physiotherapy areas: neurology, musculoskeletal, respiratory and rehabilitation.
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary team and managing a ward caseload with daily communication.
* Desirable: membership of relevant specialist interest group, completion of normal movement/movement science courses, mental health/dementia awareness training.
* Desirable: experience of service delivery or quality improvement projects, inpatient based role, Band 6 experience, student clinical educator role, experience working with mental health populations with cognitive impairment.
Skills and Knowledge
* Knowledge of NHS systems, policies and procedures.
* Clinical knowledge of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
* Strong time‑management and prioritisation skills.
* Compliance with local and regulatory patient record‑keeping.
* Clear written and verbal communication.
* Application of evidence‑based practice, audit and quality improvement.
* Ability to manage clinical and non‑clinical complications and risks.
* Capability to work with patients displaying challenging behaviours.
* Proficiency in teaching/training and outcome measurement application.
* IT literacy.
* Desirable: expertise in spasticity management, vestibular rehabilitation, splinting, posture and seating systems.
* Desirable: experience with behavioural change models (e.g., motivational interviewing).
