Engineering Project Lead for Sustainable Field Instruments
British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for an exceptional Engineering Project Lead to join our Engineering and Technology team. BAS delivers world‑leading interdisciplinary research in the Polar Regions and is committed to reducing the carbon footprint of our scientific instruments.
Pay range: £56,509 – £62,159 (based on skills and experience; higher starting salary may be considered where appropriate). Flexible and part‑time working options, hybrid working and other benefits are considered on a case‑by‑case basis.

Your role will involve leading a project team to deliver solutions that reduce the carbon emissions associated with scientific instruments in remote polar locations. You will work on renewable power generation, battery energy storage, satellite connectivity and low‑power electronic engineering approaches, and will test new solutions in the polar environment.
Qualifications:
* Experience of leading a project team
* Experience of developing engineering solutions
* HNC/HND or higher in Engineering
