Lecturer in Global Environmental History
1.0 FTE post for 12 months starting 1 August 2026. Fixed‑term salary £41,064 to £46,049 full time. Location: Bailrigg, Lancaster, UK. Reference: 0348-26. Closing date: Monday 01 June 2026.
Responsibilities
* Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules including ‘Medieval and Early Modern Worlds’, ‘Human and Environment’, ‘Death’, and ‘Global Environmental History’.
* Contribute to the broader History teaching programme at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including supervision of dissertations.
* Assume responsibility for various administrative tasks and participate fully in the History community at Lancaster.
Qualifications
* Completed PhD.
* Active research programme, engaging with global histories and non‑European cultures and contexts.
* Experience of undergraduate teaching; postgraduate teaching experience is desirable.
* Expertise in the history of the early modern period, c.1500–1800.
