Overview of the Company Don Whitley Scientific Limited develops, manufactures, and sells equipment and associated products for microbiology and cell culture applications worldwide. We sell to both public and private sectors in a variety of scientific disciplines. We are a family-owned business which was established in 1976 and are based in Bingley, West Yorkshire. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Production Operative / Assembler to work within our onsite based Production Department. Role Purpose: The role is based within a fast-paced production department, with a supportive culture and an emphasis on teamwork and continued professional development and training. The role holder will be required to manufacture high quality DWS products in an efficient manner, including ancillary components and assemblies. Responsibilities: Production of assemblies/components to works orders. To ensure all relevant Health and Safety and COSHH regulations are adhered to. To assist in ensuring the standards set by the Company Quality Policy are achieved. Update of personal training record. Work towards continued professional development to increase knowledge and skill set over time. Support production team members as required i.e. training / supporting with a cabinet build etc. To carry out specific tasks in support of the department as agreed with the Production Team Leader. Skilled / Semi-skilled engineering or production assembly background. Experience of working within a mechanical engineering production department. Ability to follow drawings and schematic diagrams. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles. Previous experience of assembly, wiring, testing, fault finding.
