This role would suit candidates with backgrounds in electrical engineering, testing, instrumentation, laboratory operations or technical services.The Lab Technician will support ISO9001 standards, maintain calibration procedures and ensure precision instruments are tested, documented and returned to customers in excellent working condition.APPLY TODAYReady to make your next career move? Apply Now for our Recruitment Team to review.DUTIESYour duties as the Lab Technician include:Equipment Calibration: Conduct hands-on calibration of temperature, pressure, level, flow, electrical equipment and precision instruments in accordance with quality standardsTesting and Inspection: Support test set-up activities and ensure equipment is fully tested and returned in excellent working orderTechnical Documentation: Log calibration data, compile reports and maintain accurate records using internal systems and software packagesQuality Assurance: Ensure calibration equipment remains compliant, safe and certified against UKAS recognised standardsLaboratory Procedures: Follow departmental standard operating procedures and approved testing methodsHealth and Safety: Maintain health and safety standards within the laboratory and support audits where requiredCustomer Support: Record discrepancies and communicate findings when necessaryLaboratory Management: Maintain laboratory cleanliness and support inventory control activitiesTechnical Development: Cross-train in electrical, pressure and temperature calibration disciplines to support operational requirementsCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSESSENTIALIdeally educated to HNC level or abovePrevious experience in a technical, engineering, electrical, laboratory or testing environmentExcellent communication and customer service skillsStrong teamwork and collaboration skillsGood IT literacy including Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePointAbility to follow procedures and work effectively within a self-directed environmentHighly motivated with strong organisational and problem-solving skillsDESIRABLEPrevious experience in calibration or instrumentation activitiesExperience working with ISO quality standardsPrevious experience in a UKAS ISO17025:2017 accredited laboratory environmentUnderstanding of electrical principles and engineering equipmentExperience with field-based calibration, TUS and SAT activitiesKnowledge of AMS2750 and CQI-9BENEFITSCompany Events - Because we love celebrating victoriesFree on-site parking with electric/plug-in charging pointsModern open plan office with collaboration spaces and pool tableHealth and Wellbeing Cash PlanCompany PensionTotal holiday package of 31 daysEmployer-sponsored office attireChristmas shutdownFree Gym membershipHOW TO APPLYTo be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
