University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity for a specialist paediatric sleep practitioner to join our paediatric neurobehavioural sleep clinic. The role involves assessment, diagnosis and management of sleep disorders in children aged 1 to 18, including those with neurodevelopmental differences.

Location: Southampton, United Kingdom.
What You’ll Do
* Support lead clinicians in sleep assessment clinics, either via online video consultation or face‑to‑face settings.
* Hold a caseload of up to thirty patients with chronic childhood insomnia, creating and implementing individualised sleep intervention programmes.
* Use telephone and video to follow up with families.
* Attend monthly caseload supervision with the senior Band 5 sleep practitioner.
* Participate in MDT weekly clinical supervision and in the monthly service team meeting to discuss service development and journal club.
What We’re Looking For
You will need a good understanding of child development and child behaviour, with a minimum of two years experience working with children with additional needs and their families. Previous experience with autism or sensory integration and community experience are advantageous. Knowledge of sleep is preferred but not essential.

* NNEB, CACHE or equivalent qualification and post‑registration experience in a related specialty.
* Child development experience.
* Community experience.
* Experience working in a constantly changing environment.
* Ability to assess a child’s developmental age.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Teamwork ability in a close‑knit team.
* Understanding of equality within the workforce.
* Awareness of safeguarding children.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience caring for children with special needs.
* Experience working with children and parents where sleep causes difficulties.
* Understanding of children with special needs.
* Ability to work with families on behaviour programmes for sleep.
* Experience leading or working with groups of parents and professionals.
