My client are specialist facades and cladding subcontractor, that are in the market for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor specialising in Facades to join our construction team. They deliver facades and cladding to main contractors, working on hospitals and apartment projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring the financial efficiency of facade projects from inception to completion. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on innovative building façades, contributing to iconic structures and high-profile developments. The ideal applicant will possess strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and experience in cost control within the construction industry.
Duties
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for façade projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
* Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, identifying potential overruns and implementing corrective measures.
* Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and verify that work aligns with contractual specifications and budget constraints.
* Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to negotiate prices and secure favourable terms.
* Manage change orders and variations, ensuring proper documentation and approval processes are followed.
* Analyse tenders and assist in the selection of subcontractors and suppliers based on value for money.
* Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to façade projects for audit purposes.
* Support project managers in planning procurement schedules and resource allocation to optimise project delivery.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor specialising in Facades or similar construction sectors.
* Strong knowledge of cost control principles, budgeting, and financial management within construction projects.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent tools.
* Effective communication skills to liaise confidently with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
* A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (e.g., RICS accreditation is desirable).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team under tight deadlines.
