Job Description:
As the BDM, you'll lead a dynamic and proactive events sales strategy for Oddfellows Chester hotel, specialising in expertly managing events, especially weddings. Your role encompasses the overall achievement and delivery of sales for the hotel, requiring strategic planning and execution to surpass targets.

Responsibilities:
·Market Presence: Be the face of the hotel in the marketplace, driving weddings and events revenue into Oddfellows Chester with support from Wedding and Events Coordinators.
·Team Management: Oversee and manage the Events department, displaying a proactive and innovative approach to skills development, procedures, and standards enhancement with your team.
·Budgeting and Planning: Develop annual budgets for the department, monitor performance, create a sales and marketing plan, and implement all sales strategies in collaboration with the Operations Director and Director of Sales.
·Account Management: Control, develop, and monitor the current Event department's account base with the Wedding and Event’s team
·New Business: Proactively research, identify, and win new Wedding and M&E business for the hotel.
·Market Exposure: Ensure all key wedding and M&E channels are updated to drive revenue, negotiate group listing deals for optimal exposure.
·Expertise: Be the weddings expert for the hotel, plan and execute weddings playbook, and manage group wedding channels.
·Networking: Identify, arrange, and attend key wedding fairs for Oddfellows hotels.
·Market Awareness: Develop and enhance awareness of the hotel within the marketplace, support marketing and social media activities, and contribute to an events calendar.
·Local Business Development: Research and win new local accommodation business for Oddfellows Chester.
·Relationship Management: Nurture relationships with key GDS agents that book accommodation into the hotel.
·Agency Relations: Nurture relationships with key event agencies through agency visits and presentations, organise fam trips.
·Reporting: Report to the General Manger and Group Director of Sales and maintain regular communication with the hotel team and Wedding and Event Coordinators.
·Collaboration: Work closely with the Senior Management Team to identify and drive focused activities on elements of the hotel that require additional support.
