Are you passionate about making a difference in education and your local community? North Star 180°, a SEND Academy based in Bath and part of the North Star Academy Trust, is looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our governing board.
About Us:
North Star Academy Trust (NSAT) is a growing Multi-Academy Trust in South West England, specializing in social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) education. Our schools provide specialist support to students and assist mainstream schools in improving SEMH outcomes. At North Star, we believe every student deserves an education that prepares them for a happy, fulfilled, and meaningful life.
Role and Responsibilities: As a Governor, you will:
•Shape the strategic direction of our school.
•Support and challenge our leadership team.
•Engage with stakeholders and the community.
•Identify and address issues and risks.
•Collaborate with fellow Governors.
•Monitor and evaluate performance.
•Ensure every pupil receives the best possible education.
Who We're Looking For:
No previous experience in education is necessary – just a willingness to learn and make a positive impact. We welcome applications from individuals with experience in:
•Health or Social Care
•Facilities/Estates
•Marketing/PR
•Health & Safety
•Technology/Data Analysis
•Project Management
•Performance Management
•Recent experience in the education system
What's Involved:
•Attend 6 board meetings per year, in person at the school.
•Contribute to discussions on school strategy, finances, and pupil welfare.
•Access training and support to help you succeed.
•Work with a supportive team of governors and school leaders.
