We are advertising a fixed-term opportunity for a Geography teacher to cover maternity leave, based at The Community School of Auchterarder. The post is start on or after 27 October 2025 and is temporary, to cover a maternity leave. This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE post, but applications from candidates wishing to work part-time will be considered. Salary: £33,594 - £50,589.
Overview
The Community School of Auchterarder is an all-through school, comprising Nursery, Primary and Secondary departments serving the community of Auchterarder and surrounding district. The school has a roll of approximately 1,100 children and young people and is located about 14 miles south of Perth.
Responsibilities
* Teach Geography within the Social Subjects Faculty
* Contribute to a positive learning environment and inclusive practice to meet the needs of all learners
* Analyse data to ensure strong outcomes for learners
* Engage with parents/carers and maintain positive behaviours using restorative approaches
* Support the school’s aim to build a community of learners who are happy, engaged, ambitious, respectful and trustworthy
* Participate in suitable professional development and contribute to school improvement
Skills & Experience
* Thorough knowledge of pedagogies that engage learners and inclusive practice
* Ability to analyse data to support improved learner outcomes
* High aspirations for learners and good communication skills with parents/carers
* Strong organisational skills and effective behaviour management, including restorative approaches
* GTCS Registration in Geography (essential)
