PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £45,000 - £55,000 plus London Weighting where applicable, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Purpose of the role
The Reward HR Specialist plays a key role within the Reward Centre of Expertise and forms part of the wider BBC People team. Working closely with other Centres of Expertise, our in‑house shared service centre, and divisional HR Business Partners, you will support a broad range of reward activities. These include job evaluation, pay benchmarking, data analysis, reward governance, the annual pay review process and, within our commercial entities, the annual bonus cycle.
Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
* Provide guidance and insight to Reward Operations and divisional HR teams on day‑to‑day reward matters, helping inform strategic and operational decision‑making.
* Support key reward projects, including the annual pay review and bonus cycles, pay governance processes, job evaluations and pay benchmarking.
* Proactively contribute to wider BBC People initiatives, taking ownership and demonstrating curiosity, initiative and a passion for continuous improvement.
* Build strong relationships with internal colleagues and external partners, monitoring emerging trends, legislation and best practice to help shape reward solutions.
Essential Criteria
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Proven analytical and data management skills within reward or compensation.
* Experience in job evaluation and pay benchmarking.
* Strong understanding of reward practices in large and complex UK organisations; international experience is advantageous.
* Excellent relationship‑building and stakeholder‑management skills.
* The ability to clearly translate reward data, policies and concepts to non‑specialist audiences.
* Experience of supporting complex reward projects and annual cyclical processes.
