What You'll Be Doing
You\'ll be responsible for all things Health and Safety across our sites blending strategic oversight with on the ground action. You\'ll shape policies embed culture and make sure our people and projects are protected.
* Leading safety initiatives and owning site wide H&S outcomes
* Carrying out regular site inspections investigations and equipment checks
* Managing COSHH and ensuring safe handling of hazardous substances
* Keeping us audit ready with up to date risk assessments policies and procedures
* Coordinating training fire drills emergency planning and safety inductions
* Monitoring fire alarms emergency lighting and legionella controls
* Managing contractor safety permits and documentation
* Producing reports KPIs and real world insights for senior leadership
* Championing a zero harm culture and mentoring teams at all levels
What We're Looking For
This role calls for someone confident hands on and comfortable taking the lead. You\'ll need to be calm under pressure clear in your communication and committed to raising the bar. We\'re looking for someone who:
* Holds a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (essential)
* Has solid H&S experience in manufacturing pharmaceutical or regulated environments
* Knows their way around UK safety legislation COSHH and real world compliance
* Can produce actionable reports and influence at every level
* Is comfortable working independently and owning safety outcomes
* Has practical experience with safety tasks and equipment
* Ideally understands GMP and working with controlled drugs
Bonus points for:
* Experience with ISO management systems (9001 14001 45001)
* Previous work with GMP controlled substances or distance selling pharmacies
* A proven track record in shifting safety culture and leading change
