Morson Edge are working on behalf of a major player in the Energy Sector who have a current contract requirement for an experienced Field Engineer (Welding & NDT) to join their established site-based team in Bridgwater, Somerset. This is a (renewable) contract position - inside IR35.
Overview:
* As a Field Engineer focused on welding and NDT activities, you will oversee critical quality assurance tasks, ensuring construction activities align with contractual and safety requirements. ? ? You will Identify and mitigate potential quality issues, supporting on-time project delivery.
Principal accountabilities
* Submit and document non-conformance reports as needed.
* Review and monitor Quality Control Plans and Inspection Records.
* Evaluate contractor performance and adherence to standards.
* Contribute to health, safety, and environmental objectives across site operations.
* Ensure documentation and reporting align with regulatory and quality requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Welding Inspector qualification (CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent as a minimum).
* Current or previous qualifications in multiple NDT methods.
* Experience in construction involving fabrication and installation of pressure systems and structural steel.
* Fully conversant with British/European standards and design codes including RCC-M and BS EN.
* Proven QA/QC experience and ability to document findings concisely and accurately.
* Strong organisational, delegation, and communication skills.
