Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a Project Commercial Manager to join the Anglian Water @One Alliance. Responsibilities
* Accountable for the commercial and cost management of a project or programme of projects from inception to close out reporting directly to an Integrated Projects Leader (IPL), ensuring maximum efficiencies and full compliance with Alliance and Anglian Water governance procedures.
* Provide a commercial challenge to the IPL and team on all project matters.
* Ensure robust estimates are provided that are aligned to scope.
* Manage and support the commercial and procurement strategies with the Senior Buyers to ensure tender processes are followed correctly.
* Ensure subcontracts are properly prepared, reflect the agreed scope, and are properly managed in accordance with contract.
* Provide accurate live forecasting taking into account the project programme and reporting in accordance with the respective WBS/CBS.
* Monitor actual costs against baseline estimates, challenge variances, and provide reports on cost performance and underlying reasons for any variances and resolutions.
* Ensure the Alliance contract is properly administered.
* Oversee the timely issue of early warnings and advise the IPL on all matters related to compliance.
* Maintain proper records so that all financial information for audits and cost assurance is readily available.
* Ensure final accounts are prepared timely and accurately.
* Ensure mitigation plans are in place and implemented.
* Proactively manage opportunities, including identifying and implementing plans to realise them.
* Monitor identified efficiencies, report variances to the IPL, and ensure progress against the plan.
* Report any withheld, disputed, or disallowed costs to the IPL.
* Lead and manage a small team; mentor and develop team members.
Qualifications, skills and behaviours
* Educated to degree level and hold either RICS/CIOB/CICES certification (preferred).
* Demonstrable experience in managing complex projects up to multi-million pound scale.
* Ability to manage change, and comfort challenging decisions.
* Experience with NEC contracts, negotiating, estimating, and strong stakeholder management skills.
* Champion collaboration, open communication, ownership, and strong commercial focus.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills to build strong working relationships.
