A large international organisation is looking to appoint an experienced ERP Data Migration Lead to take ownership of the data workstream within a major enterprise transformation programme. The programme involves the migration of legacy ERP platforms to SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, alongside several integrated SAP systems.
This role sits within the Business Transformation team and will be responsible for leading the full lifecycle of data migration activities – from early discovery and preparation through to migration, validation, and final cutover.
The successful candidate will manage a cross-functional data team and work closely with programme leadership, internal stakeholders, and external delivery partners to ensure data is migrated accurately, securely, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and lead the overall data migration strategy across the ERP transformation programme
* Take ownership of the data workstream throughout the programme lifecycle
* Monitor migration progress, risks, and interdependencies while providing regular updates to senior programme stakeholders
* Work closely with programme teams, architects, and external implementation partners to ensure alignment with delivery milestones
Data Migration Execution
* Oversee data discovery, profiling, cleansing, mapping, and transformation across multiple legacy platforms
* Define and maintain data quality standards and governance frameworks throughout the migration process
* Manage mock migrations, reconciliation processes, and data validation activities prior to production release
* Coordinate the final cutover process, including delta loads and production data migration
* Lead the design and implementation of ETL pipelines used to extract, transform, and load enterprise data into the SAP S/4HANA environment
* Establish best practices and standards for ETL development, documentation, and version management
* Collaborate with platform engineering teams to ensure migration tools support required data volumes, complexity, and performance requirements
* Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, data engineers, and data quality specialists
* Provide guidance and oversight to ensure consistent delivery across the data workstream
* Build strong relationships with business SMEs, programme managers, solution architects, and external consultants
Experience Required
* Demonstrated experience leading the data workstream within a large SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA migration programme
* Strong knowledge of SAP data structures, migration tools, and ERP data models
* Experience designing and delivering ETL pipelines and enterprise data transformation solutions
* Strong background in data governance, data profiling, cleansing, and reconciliation
* Experience managing technical data teams within complex transformation or ERP implementation programmes
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language
* Exposure to SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud environments
* Knowledge of data architecture, master data management (MDM), or cloud-based data platforms
* Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and regulatory considerations in large-scale data migrations
