Hours of work: (Monday - Thursday) 7am - 4pm (Friday) 7:30am - 12:30pm

Are you an experienced CNC Turner looking to join one of the largest independent global manufacturers in the UK. Specialising in a wide range of aerospace production capabilities. Located in Basildon, Essex, dedicated to precision manufacturing, treatments, NDT, and repairs of metallic aerospace parts and finished components. We are seeking a skilled professional to set up, operate, and optimize CNC turning machines, ensuring high-quality, close-tolerance components are produced to exacting standards.
Responsibilities
* Set up and operate CNC turning machines, including tooling changes and process adjustments, in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
* Program, edit, and prove out CNC turning
* Able to create complex programs and learn a 9 axis machine
* Conduct first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges)
* Identify and resolve issues related to machine or part deviation, performing troubleshooting and fine-tuning as needed.
* Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation for quality assurance and production tracking.
* Support workflow and collaborate with team members to optimize production efficiency.
* Follow all health and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years' experience in CNC turning, including setting and operating CNC lathes—experience with Mazak or sliding head machines is advantageous.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent attention to detail.
* Experience in using a wide range of measuring and inspection tools.
* Background in working to tight tolerances and quality control processes.
* Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Recognized engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, or equivalent qualification is beneficial.
