Experience / Background Required
* Time-served apprenticeship and proven mechanical fitting/production experience within an engineering environment.
* Ability to read technical drawings.
* High attention to detail and understanding of technical drawings.
* Positive attitude towards customer service, both internal and external.
* Good workload management skills and adaptability to changing demands.
* Strong interpersonal skills, including good spoken and written communication.
* Physical fitness, mobility, and dexterity suitable for fitting and customer training.
The Role of Mechanical Fitter
* Prepare, fit, and repair component parts and equipment, including metalwork, hand/power tools, and workshop equipment.
* Maintain departmental tools and ensure they are in good repair and receive regular maintenance.
* Manage individual workload in coordination with the departmental team leader to meet production targets.
* Conduct quality checks before distribution or transfer to other departments, acting as a witness when required.
* React quickly to changing demands, reprioritizing workload based on production and sales information.
