An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Operations Development Manager to be based within our Retail network.

Shift Pattern:
8am – 4pm, Monday – Friday

How will you contribute?
•Providing tactical leadership, taking accountability and responsibility for the planning, delivery and implementation of development projects within your nominated function, both tactical short term and supporting the customers longer term strategic plans (2-5 years) •Client management – support an environment where Wincanton and Kingfisher can work effectively on delivering strategic plans and operation developments that drive the agreed financial benefits and customer proposition. •Manage strategic development solutions and change programmes to support client and in-house strategies for the warehouse and transport operations through equipment specification, material flow, process design and site layout •Translate the strategic business plans into well-defined operational plans, leadership and transitioning the business from the project mode to an ongoing steady state operations mode •Taking full ownership of operations projects budget from drafting CAPEX requests to managing CAPEX spend and reconciliation. •Ensure a consistent and structured approach to project governance and implementation is used across the site and contract •Identify new and maintain existing value-added services to the Contract. •Own and chair client development project reviews. •Ensure effective communication throughout the operation; engaging with the management team in development initiatives from cradle to grave and creating a culture of involved change •Lead, develop and inspire direct reports to ensure that the team is performance focussed and engaged, so that business goals can be achieved whilst maximising individuals’ potential •Support the strategic management of third parties, in particular engineering and software contractors with a view to driving efficiencies and improved service levels •Assist the contract accounts team in the formulation and management of financial budgets associated with development programmes and projects. •Support and mentor Wincanton graduates / placement year students in a Development capacity as required
What will you bring?
•Ability to demonstrate experience of Logistics solutions •Demonstrate competency when working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) •Experience working in automated solutions advantageous •Project management experience •Understanding of Process Flow solutions •Highly autonomous in their approach with a positive 'can-do' attitude •Ability to evaluate processes and understand where automation can improve efficiency within a distribution set up •Analytical with a history of gathering and analysing complex data ranges from various sources •Ability to align development plans to both short- and long-term objectives •Experience of working closely with clients and developing effective working relationships •Excellent inter-personal skills be able to communicate at all levels professionally and discreetly •Proven track record of developing, guiding and engaging teams to deliver exceptional levels of customer service •Energy, determination, and commitment to operate in an environment where regular customer contact and scrutiny is the norm •Effective customer communication is essential •Experience of being responsible for managing change projects & process improvements •Organised and professional with strong written and verbal communication skills
The depot operates over 7 days therefore, it is essential that you are flexible in your approach to work
